Managing Wisdomer
Rob is a serial entrepreneur, business builder, and investor with over 30 years of success in founding, scaling, and exiting high-growth companies. He specializes in transforming startups into thriving enterprises, creating value from inception to liquidity.
Rob is the co-founder of Lazzaro Medical, an innovative medical device company on a mission to revolutionize the diagnosis and treatment of a widespread yet underdiagnosed respiratory condition. He also co-founded Doc Popcorn with his wife, Renee, serving as CEO to grow it into an international franchise with over 100 locations before a successful exit.
Before launching Doc Popcorn, Rob served as President of one of the largest and most successful U.S. manufacturers of girls’ sweaters and sportswear. He also led a dynamic pricing application service provider as President & CEO, where he repositioned the company from a consumer products business to a technology-driven Application Service Provider.
Beyond his entrepreneurial ventures, Rob has extensive experience in real estate development, partnering on both commercial and residential projects. He and Renee operate WisdomWrks out of 1215 Spruce, an iconic Boulder-based hub where like-minded companies can lease space, and if desired, tap into the accelerator they designed to support founders in scaling their businesses.
Rob earned his B.A. from Union College and is an alumnus of Harvard Business School’s Owners, Presidents, and Managers Program (OPM). A lifelong learner and leader, he is an active member of Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO) and has shared his expertise by teaching entrepreneurship at the University of Colorado.
Rob’s passion lies in coaching “coachable” entrepreneurs, creating meaningful value, and guiding businesses toward successful exits.

Managing WisdomerRenée is a dynamic entrepreneur, strategist, and advisor with a proven track record of building brands and driving innovation. Known for her ability to bridge strategy with execution, she helps companies transform vision into reality—turning ideas into high-growth brands.
Renée began her career in Global 500 tech companies, later leading cross-functional teams in marketing and brand strategy for major brands, including American Express, Allstate, and The New York Times, as a Vice President of Marketing at Digitas. Her expertise in launching and positioning new products laid the foundation for her entrepreneurial success.
Her startup journey began as a Managing Director on the founding team of a destination club, where she played a key role in its growth and successful exit. She later co-founded and served as CMO of Doc Popcorn, helping scale it into the world’s largest franchised retailer in its category, ultimately leading to a strategic sale. Following the exit, she served as Chief Franchise Officer at Modern Restaurant Concepts, backed by Butterfly Equity, and has since been a trusted advisor to founders across multiple franchise organizations in diverse industries.
In her co-founding of WisdomWrks, Renée is actively involved as an advisor, board member, and mentor, supporting entrepreneurs in scaling their businesses and achieving meaningful growth. She is a recognized industry leader including being selected as an Outstanding Woman Leader in Business by Denver Business Journal and a Top Influential Woman in Franchising by Entrepreneur Magazine. She also shares her expertise by mentoring CU Leeds Scholars, guest lecturing at the University of Colorado, and speaking at conferences.
Renée earned her B.A. from Gettysburg College, holds an M.B.A./M.I.M. with honors from the Thunderbird School of Global Management, and is a Certified Franchise Executive, C.F.E. Passionate about the franchise business model and the health and wellness space, she continues to shape the future of emerging brands through mentorship, investment, and strategic guidance.

General WisdomerMichael helps manage our multi-family and commercial real estate holdings, including 1215 Spruce in Boulder.
His real estate and construction management experience began shortly after college at a boutique real estate development firm.
He then founded a company specializing in the deconstruction of old tobacco barns and repurposing the wood for builders and developers.
After successfully exiting this venture, Michael transitioned into consulting and later assumed an executive role in operations for a privately held importing and manufacturing company. In this position, he simultaneously managed multiple complex cross-functional projects both nationally and internationally, showcasing his versatility and leadership skills.
Michael's extensive experience in project management is a cornerstone of his current role at B7 Properties and WisdomWrks. He holds a finance degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
